Our School Curriculum: The Importance of Educational Trips and Visits

We are extremely proud of our School Curriculum, which we believe provides all students with the opportunity to flourish academically and personally, and allows them all to leave Sale Grammar School with the skills in order to succeed in life. A key element comprising our School Curriculum is the role that educational trips and visits play in enriching the lives of our students.

Overnight and Overseas Educational Trips and Visits

Students have the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities both during and after the school day; we are extremely proud of this provision and whilst these opportunities offer tremendous learning experiences, we understand the profound value of engaging in overnight and overseas trips in the personal development of our students.

Planning Ahead: A three-year Programme

We understand that there is a financial cost to all overnight and overseas trips and visits, and although we work tirelessly to plan and offer opportunities that are as cost-efficient as possible, it is very often the case that students have to choose between activities as it may simply not be viable to attend every activity. Similarly, we understand that some activities have a specific curriculum focus and as such we believe it is helpful to all stakeholders to understand the rhythm and meter of our offer over the course of the life of a student at Sale Grammar School. With this in mind, we are pleased to promote a programme of overnight and overseas educational visits that spans three years.

Support for our School Community

Please note that whilst every effort will be made to adhere to this programme some amendments may have to be made in the future as a result of changing variables and we will promote and changes in order to support with your planning. Please also note that whilst every effort is made to ensure that students have an opportunity to attend the visits that they have selected, many of these visits are over-subscribed and as such details of how we allocate places will be shared with stakeholders in all visit documentation bespoke to each activity. Finally, we are committed to supporting all students and families within our school community and if your child is in receipt of free school meals and you wish to speak to a member of staff about financial support for trips and visits, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
