Exam Information 2025
CANDIDATE EXAM HANDBOOK
The handbook (available below) has been put together to ensure students and their parents/carers have access to all of the information they need regarding the external examinations in Summer 2025/6. The handbook has been divided into two parts. Part 1 is given to students at the beginning of their course and Part 2 is in relation to their final written examinations which is handed out in either Year 11 and/or Year 13.
There are a number of regulations that students must be aware of for external examinations and these are either included in the handbook or available below.
Students taking external examinations in Summer 2025/6 need to sign and return a reply slip via Microsoft forms confirming they have read and understand the contents of this handbook. Should students or parents/carers require clarification of any points, please see the Exams Officer, who will be happy to help.
EXTERNAL EXAM DATES SUMMER 2025
The first examination on the national timetable for GCSE Thursday 8th May 2025.
The first examination on the national timetable for AS / A Level Monday 12th May 2025.
The final examination on the national timetable for GCSE and A Level is Wednesday 25th June 2025.
Please be aware that the awarding bodies have designated Wednesday 25th June 2025 as a ‘contingency day’ for examinations. This means that in the event of national or local disruption to a day of examinations in Summer 2024, the awarding bodies may, as a last resort, reschedule the examination to the published contingency date. Candidates should ensure they are available on that date and be mindful of this when making plans for the summer.
Students will receive a Statement of Entry around March 2025, showing all of your exam entries, together with the nationally published dates and times.
Students will receive your final exam timetable late April showing dates, times, venues, seating position, etc after all personal details have been checked and confirmed, and any timetable clashes have been resolved.
